Introduction to Welding-SMAW/GMAW

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Introduction to Welding was developed to introduce a more skilled entry-level worker into the rapidly growing metal working manufacturing, fabrication and construction industries.

The Introduction to Welding-SMAW/GMAW combines hands-on learning of such skills as Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Oxyfuel Cutting and other commonly used cutting methods. Theoretical training in such topics as Welding and Shop Safety, Basic Welding Principles, Weld Quality and Shop math and more.
Upon completion of the program, you are eligible for the following Certifications

  • Certificate of Completion-Chaffey College
  • Cal/OSHA 10 General Industry
  • Amatrol Certificate
  • American Welding Society (AWS): SMAW D1.1 Structural Welding Code-Steel and/or GMAW D1.3 Structural Welding Code-Sheet Steel
