Calvin Bonds

Leadership Trainer

Calvin Bonds is a Global Leadership Training Coach and Master Storyteller. He cofounded Burgeon Consulting, and has almost two decades of experience helping companies advance in the global market. Training for Chaffey College since 2013, Dr. Bonds specializes in Communication, Leadership, Business Writing, Conflict Resolution, Emotional Intelligence, Customer Service and Sales. He has a B.A. in English & Music, Executive M.B.A., MA in Education and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Pepperdine University.

Richard Cortez

Industrial Electrical Trainer

Richard Cortez has worked for the Chaffey College since 2016, specializing in Industrial Electrical Maintenance, Manufacturing Basic Electricity Courses, such as Hydraulics/Pneumatics and Troubleshooting, as well as Instrumentation and Process Controls technical trainings. He was recently assigned as the technical trainer at Metropolitan Water District and had a B.S. in Organizational Management from the University of La Verne. He is certified in NFPA 70E Electrical Safety, CPR, OSHA – 30 & 10. He has over 14 years of experience in the industrial electrical field.

Hector M. Escarcega

Workplace Safety Trainer

Hector M. Escarcega has over 30 years of hands-on experience working in both the General and the Construction Industry as a bilingual Corporate Trainer, Consultant and Motivational speaker specializing in workplace safety/ OSHA, Productivity and Human Resources. Hector assists in bringing his clients into compliance with State and Federal OSHA regulations and increases his client’s productivity and profits. He also helps clients update and improve their existing safety programs customized training programs in both English and Spanish.

William (Bill) Gutzmann

Electrician Trainer

William (Bill) Gutzmann has worked at Chaffey College for more than four years as an industry expert and trainer. His career began in 1982 in the U.S. Navy where he learned about electronics and industrial electrical components, including nuclear power generation. He has worked in the manufacturing industry since 2003 and is now a journey-level equivalent electrician and field-service engineer.

Mark Hedges

Logistics Trainer

Mark Hedges has worked at Chaffey College for more than eight years and has a Business Degree from the University of La Verne. Additionally, he has certificates in Community Leadership, Quality & Performance Management, and Financial Management from UCR. He also holds a Certificate in SAP 4.6C LONA56 Basic Data Level (Three) Warehouse Management (Level 3). He was a 21-year Active-Duty Navy man as a Chief Construction Mechanic. His prior work experience includes over 19 years in logistics management.

Ron Hurst

Business Trainer

Ron is an industry leader in training and development. His engaging programs are developed using the latest knowledge of instructional design. Ron has been training with Chaffey College since 2008 and specializes in Leadership Development, Effective Communication, and Process Improvement. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Development from Fielding Graduate University, an M.S. in Leadership and Management from the University of La Verne, an M.B.A. from the University of La Verne and a B.S. in Engineering from McMaster University.

Mike Koehler

Mechanical Instructor

Mike Koehler has been an independent equipment consultant for 19 years with responsibilities for system diagnostics, technical training, component failure analysis and expert witness work. Previous experience includes 25 years as a Shop and Field Service Technician, a Technical Trainer, Project Manager and Service Manager. Mike has over 30 years’ experience as technical trainer and is in his second year teaching at the InTech Center. Mike is an NCCER-certified instructor and primarily focuses on Hydraulics, Pneumatics and Pumps.

Joe Martinez

Machinist Trainer

Joe Martinez has worked at Chaffey College for more than three years but has been teaching for more than 23 years. He is bilingual and possesses a Full-Time Teaching Credential. He has more than 16 years of experience as a Machinist, both Conventional and CNC. He attended San Diego State University, Cal State San Bernardino, Chaffey College, Pasadena City College, College of the Canyons, and a couple of private schools to teach Credentials, general subjects, and Business management.

Mark Morales

Leadership Trainer

Mark Morales is currently a Leadership/ Corporate Trainer for Developing Leaders. Mark trains individuals in Leadership, Communication, Creative Problem Solving, Team Building, Project Management. He is also a Professor at the University of La Verne in the College of Management and Public Administration. After 20 years as a successful Information Technology Manager and Management Consultant, Mark is dedicated to helping individuals, leaders, and organizations reach their maximum potential.

Joe Morgan

Electrician Trainer

Joe Morgan is a lead Electrical Technician at California Steel Industries at the #2 Continuous Galvanizing Line. He has been at CSI since April 2005, when he was hired in as an ‘A’ electrician. His formal education stems from his time in the United States Navy as a Nuclear Trained Electricians Mate, where he served onboard the USS George Washington aircraft carrier. Joe has had extensive teaching and mentoring experience throughout his career in the Navy and at CSI. He has been teaching at the Intech Center since 2016.

Steve Nagy

Electrical Trainer

Steve works for California Steel Industries (CSI) and began his career in the U.S. Air Force as an avionics technician working on the F15 fighter jet. Steve then became part of the first industrial electrical apprenticeship program between CSI and Chaffey College. Since then, Steve has worked at CSI for 28 years. Steve has been working with students at InTech for five years where he specializes in electricity and motor theory. He graduated with a B.S. degree in Automated Manufacturing Technology from ITT Technical College.

Bill Napoli

Computer Skills Trainer

Bill Napoli founded Computrax, Inc. In 1987, which specialized in computer training and custom software development. He served as CEO until his retirement in 2008. Bill was formerly Vice President of several computer services companies. During his long career, Bill has authored over 50 workbooks on various computer subjects, which he uses in conducting his computer workshops. He has published two science fiction novels and has personally developed over 25 custom software apps.

Greg Peters

Workplace Safety Trainer

Greg Peters is Owner/President of American Crane Training and Consulting, Inc. in Claremont, CA. He has been involved in the mining, construction, crane and trucking industries for more than 25 years. He served in the Military for 6 years. He is a NCCCO certified Lift Director, crane operator, Rigger level I and Rigger II, Signal Person, and examiner for all NCCCO designations. He currently trains and consults throughout the U.S.

Henry (Hank) Rogers

Business Trainer

Henry (Hank) Rogers is an experienced management, consulting and training professional. His experience spans years of supervision, management, quality improvement, consulting, training, and engineering. Hank has trained for Chaffey College since 2015 and specializes in Lean Six Sigma, Project Management, Leadership and Management, Business Writing and Microsoft Excel. He earned an M.S. in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University and an M.B.A. from Cal Poly Pomona.

Brian Vanderzanden

Mechanical Instructor

Brian Vanderzanden is a mechanical instructor with over 15 years of  experience in the field. Currently, he works as a Mechanical Maintenance Leadman for California Steel Industries where he specializes in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems operation, maintenance, and improvement. He also participates in and leads other programs such as Hazardous Materials and Waste Management, Safety, and Quality Control. Brian has served in the United States Navy as Machinist Mate on nuclear-powered submarines.

Jose Victoria

Mechanical Instructor

Jose is continually working in the mechanical trades and has for the past 16 years. Currently an instructor for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Also worked as a maintenance technician at California Steel Industries, previous member in the local pipefitter’s union working in various projects throughout Southern California and taught at San Bernardino Valley College. Currently holds a Los Angeles city certified welder licensed and is an American Welding Society certified welding inspector.

Sammy Villanueva

Business Trainer

Michael Wahome

Business Trainer

Michael Wahome is a consultant who works with private business and nonprofit organizations to help them design and implement competitive strategies in marketing, culture, and data collection, reporting and analysis. Michael has over 18 years’ experience in entrepreneurship, operations and management, including owning and operating a telecommunication contracting company based in the IE. He has been a trainer with Chaffey College since 2018.
