PROGRAM DESCRIPTION


The Construction Laborer certificate program provides a broad working base from which to handle the many facets of construction trades as it relates to construction. The program meet the needs of those entering the trade for the first time, and allow those already in the trade to improve their understanding of the craft.

The Construction Trades program curriculum covers carpentry, drywall, roofing, masonry, electrical, plumbing, construction math, building trades, and us of hand and power tools.

Construction Laborer typically do the following:

  • Answer, screen, forward telephone calls
  • Use office equipment, such as fax machines, photocopiers, videoconferencing, and other office equipment
  • Use computers for spreadsheets, word processing, database management, and other office applications
  • Route and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and email
  • Schedule appointments
  • Correct spelling and grammar to ensure accuracy
  • Complete forms in accordance with company procedures
  • Greet walk-in customers and help to monitor visitors’ access to the office
  • File
  • Within their daily routine, office staff may be required to bend, lift, stand, and walk

  • Certificate of Completion – Chaffey College
  • Cal OSHA-10

Forklift Training

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION


The forklift Operation Certificate Training program is designed to prepare you to work in a warehouse setting by providing training in industry-led standards for higher skilled, frontline material handling workers across multiple industries. Training addresses the need for employability and academic skills as well as technical skills.

Forklift Operation Certificate Training is:

  • Operation and identification of types of lift equipment
  • Perform safety inspections & identify hazards in the workplace
  • Move, load and unload products
  • Compare ship contents to records
  • Inspect equipment for damage or defects
  • Determine loaded cargo complies with specification
  • Observe & learn hand signal used for safe driving
  • Drive, stack, and maneuver equipment in a variety of settings
  • Attach or mark items to identify products being shipped/received
  • Complete OSHA General Safety Training

Eligible Certifications:

  • Certificate of Completion – Chaffey College
  • OSHA 10 Certification in Forklift Operation
