InTech has worked with several high schools in the region, as well as industry partners, to develop a pre-apprenticeship technical training program geared toward students aged 16-24 years old. This training prepares students for entry-level apprenticeship positions in the occupations of Industrial Maintenance Electrician and Industrial Mechanic.
Every year, InTech also partners with San Bernardino Superintendent of Schools to host a Manufacturing Day event. Manufacturers set up exhibits and give junior high and high school students a glimpse into a manufacturing career. Last year, InTech hosted over 900 students from Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties; this year, over 1300 students are expected to participate. Other events throughout the year include a Girl Scouts Women in Manufacturing event (with about 90 young women in attendance); California State Senate Connie Leyva’s Young Men’s Conference and several high school tours.
