Fontana, California (October 25, 2018): Chaffey College Workforce Training Institute (CCWTI) hosted at the InTech Center was awarded a two-year contract amount of $949,954 from the state of California’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) on November 1, 2018. The purpose of these ETP funds is to provide workforce development training to qualifying companies to support job creation and retention.

Utilizing Chaffey College’s ETP funds, employers who are faced with out-of-state competition have the opportunity to provide necessary training to their employees in technical training, leadership, computer skills, lean, customer service and more, all at limited cost to them. “Chaffey College has partnered with industry for years to provide programs that continually upskill their incumbent workforce,” said Sandra Sisco, Director of Economic Development and the InTech Learning Center at Chaffey College. “By utilizing ETP funds to cover training costs, we strengthen our relationship with employers while also building a foundation for a sustainable economy in the Inland Empire region.”

Training programs funded through ETP are offered either at Chaffey College – InTech Learning Center, where employees can sign up for available classes, or at a company jobsite where employers have the option to customize trainings to fit their needs. CCWTI exhausted their last two-year ETP contract in 16 months, serving over 45 employers and 1,000 trainees.
