Fontana, California (April 12, 2017): In September 2016, Chaffey College – InTech Center was awarded $75,000 from JPMorgan Chase & Co. to sponsor manufacturing/workforce development training programs for students in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District. The programs will focus on craft fundamentals in the industrial electrical or mechanical industries, and students who complete all requirements will receive job assistance, 10 certified job leads, an OSHA 10 certification and NCCER Core certification. The training programs are offered in summer and fall, and will be available at three locations.

“With a widening skills gap occurring between companies in the Inland Empire and qualified workers, exposing students to the opportunities available to them is vital to the economy,” said Jennifer Poe, Lead Data and Project Manager at the InTech Center. “By providing the tools to begin a career in a well-paid, high-demand industry, this grant helps young individuals find a pathway to their future.”

JPMorgan Chase & Co. grant funds will serve 90-120 students between 15-24 years old over a period of one year. Upon completion of their training, students will be prepared to find an entry-level position in a related industry or can advance to a higher level of training. “Chaffey College’s InTech Center is a tremendous asset to our region, providing vital access to skilled instruction and job placement to meet industry demands,” said Mathew Holton, Superintendent of Chaffey Joint Union High School District.
